The primary goal of this course is to train you in all aspects of
accounting and bookkeeping. You will acquire the practical
knowledge and skills to enable you to set up, maintain, and close
a small business set of books, including preparation of the
month-end financial statements.
Class Schedule/Size/Homework
This is a 320-hour, five-month course of classroom instruction
presented 4 days a week, 4-hourly sessions each.
Class sizes are small: no more than 12 students. Homework
requirements are minimal as most of the work is accomplished in class.
Format
Instructor-lecture format using proprietary training program,
overheads, power-point, flip-charts, hand-outs, etc. Each session
includes a lab section utilizing exercises, drills,
problem-solving, and practice sets. Comprehensive testing is
conducted throughout the course.
Content
The course includes detailed instruction in every aspect of
accounting and bookkeeping, including a real-world overview of
business and the accounting profession, accounting and bookkeeping
concepts and conventions, math made easy; tools of the trade,
processing financial data, accounting systems, practice sets,
ten-key training, financial statement preparation, and
much more. A Certificate upon Completionwill be awarded upon successful completion of all course
requirements, including manual and computer practice sets.
When and Where
Morning and evening sessions available. Classes start two
weeks after the completion of each program and are currently held
in north San Diego county.
