About The Academy
The Accounting Academy is a career vocational school that
specializes in training people to become accountants and
bookkeepers for small business. No previous accounting experience
or college credits are required.
Mission
The Academy’s mission is to provide people with the knowledge,
skills, and confidence required to enjoy a successful career in
the world of small business accounting.
History
The Academy was founded and its curriculum developed by a seasoned
Certified Public Accountant experienced in both public and private
accounting as an auditor, controller, consultant, and chief
financial officer. He decided to start a trade school when he
realized that students were graduating from college with business
degrees who had never seen a real set of books and had no idea how
to record and post disbursements, deposits and invoices, prepare
journal entries, prepare financials, etc.. Their university
curriculum had been entirely oriented to large corporations with a
heavily emphasis on accounting and finance theory and analysis.
The real-life needs of small business were basically ignored.
Results
Our specialized training will open doors to a wide range of new
employment opportunities. In addition to your full-charge
accountant and bookkeeping skills, you’ll also be qualified for
other related business office careers, including positions in
accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll. Or, you may
want to start your bookkeeping business.
Trainers
Instructors have broad and varied backgrounds in small business
accounting which adds a real-world, practical aspect to the program.
They use a variety of teaching tools to simplify the materials
to make it easy and fun to learn. And their teaching style is
both friendly and focused.
